REGULATIONS WOOL MILL  “EMPTY SPACE_INCUBATOR OF IDEAS”

PREMISE
The European Biennial of Blacksmith Art is the largest event in Italy dedicated to the world of forging as an artistic and architectural expression that is held every two years in the town of Pratovecchio Stia, in the Casentino valley, in Tuscany.

WOOL MILL “EMPTY SPACE_INCUBATOR OF IDEAS” is an invitation to artists from all over the world to express their voice through the art of forging. The Biennale aims to create stimuli and methods of confrontation for artists who decide to get involved and to educate people about everything that is beautiful, but also and above all to break the mold and create new points of view.

PURPOSE
WOOL MILL “EMPTY SPACE_INCUBATOR OF IDEAS” is an innovative and central element of the 25 th European Biennial of Blacksmith Art – it allows the hybridization of languages, it breaks down geographical borders, it builds a collective discourse, it investigates current issues, and it tries to recompose individual discourses into a collective narrative.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
Participation is open to all artists, professionals, craftsmen or blacksmith art enthusiasts, individually or collectively.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Each participant can propose projects, works, sketches and visions that have blacksmith art as a common basis, as an expression of originality, creativity and innovation. It is possible to participate by completing the participation form.

By submitting the application form, the applicant declares to have read and accepted these general provisions without reservation.

DETAILS REGARDING THE EVENT

  • Participants will arrange themselves according to the instructions given to them by the organizers;
  • The allocation of spaces and the confirmation of participation are postponed at the sole and unquestionable judgement of the organization.

STATION ALLOCATION, PRESENCE, SURVEILLANCE
The exhibitor undertakes to occupy only the area assigned to him/her by the organizer. The organizer declines all responsibility in the event of theft or damage. It is therefore understood that the Autonomous Association for the Biennial of Blacksmith Art will not have a custody obligation towards the individual exhibition spaces and the goods stored therein, with the consequent exclusion of any related liability.Only the night guard service will be guaranteed, from 24:00 to 7:00.

SETTING UP, LOADING AND UNLOADING
Artists will be given the opportunity to bring their works from Monday 28th August 2023 to Wednesday 30th August 2023 respecting the following timetables:
• morning from 10:00 to 13:00
• afternoon from 15:00 to 20:00
Outside of the indicated times it will not be possible to set up one’s own station.

DAMAGES TO STRUCTURES
The structures present in the exhibition must be returned by the exhibitors in the same condition in which they were taken over by them. Any restoration costs following damage will be charged to the exhibitor himself/herself.

PROHIBITIONS
It is forbidden for the exhibitors to:

  • occupy different or larger spaces than those assigned;
  • use for the setting up staple guns, nails, adhesives, glues or other materials that could damage the exhibition structures;
  • use heating sources that involve the use of flames, gases or other fuels;
  • intervene on the electrical system;
  • apply advertising panels or banners of any type or size to the outside;
  • use machinery and / or equipment without the authorization of the organizers.
