The Biennial Association of Works of Art and the Municipality of Pratovecchio Stia, driven by the need to enhance the trade of the blacksmith, set up a fundamental training path for the achievement of a serious professional preparation to be contrasted with every amateur expression and the gross carelessness, displayed as artistic aptitude. Today a specific and complete preparation is necessary, in which we learn techniques that require a high professionalism linked to that innovation and evolution proper to the needs of contemporary art.
In this direction the Forging School has been structured by dividing the training path into a series of courses of various levels whose teaching staff is made up of some of the best Italian blacksmith masters such as Roberto Giordani, Roberto Magni and Martino Stenico.
The school thus offers students a training course that aims to provide technical skills, make the student aware of their knowledge, stimulate critical and creative skills, and tackle contemporary stylistic paths in order to pursue a professional career independently.
Stia Forging School organizes several cycles of annual courses.
At the end of each course, before accessing the next one, the teachers will be able to assign the students some works to be carried out in their own workshops, to verify learning and evaluate the progress made.
