PianoFerro: “The art that passes from the hammer to the little hammers”

PianoFerro: “The art that passes from the hammer to the little hammers”

Blacksmithing students and teachers from the Forging School of Stia produced a treble clef in wrought iron during the event “PianoForte Sostenibile” (Sustainable Piano) with which they honored the presence of the great pianist Stefano Bollani.

In those days, teachers and students also forged the logo of the “National Park of the Casentino  and Campigna Forests” that the Association of the Biennial of the Blacksmith of Stia will donate to the Park to thank them for supporting the event.

Four days of intense work at the forges permitted them to finish the wrought iron bench designed by one of the students of the Forging School which was commenced during the Wrought Iron Biennial in 2013.

The fires, hammers, sweat and experience of the blacksmiths, both teachers and students, gave life to the show that can be enjoyed in this video, even if seeing the shaping of iron by the blacksmiths in person is a unique experience.
